Sandwiches are prepared for the Shalom Free Clinic on the second Sunday of the month in the church kitchen at approximately 9:00 a.m. Contact Connie Wakefield at 530-345-1023.
Prepare and serve dinner at the Torres Shelter on the 4th Tuesday of the month. Contact Georgeanne Bennett 508-314-2728.
Prepare and serve breakfast at the Jesus Center when there is a 5th Sunday in the month. To volunteer contact Kevin Zeitler at 530-680-7083.
Fun Timers The Fun Timers is a committee that meets once a month to plan monthly activities offered to the whole church. Everyone is invited to participate in these events. Sacred Grounds A group of men and women who meet in Bethany Room each Sunday during the hour preceding the second service. It is a discussion/study group with emphasis on building an inclusive society through discussion and analysis of current events, book studies and submission of materials by interested individuals within the group. Men’s Work Day Men meet at church at 9:00 a.m. on the first Saturday following a 5th Sunday to do maintenance projects.
Disciples Women’s Ministries (DWM) DWM is the umbrella organization for all women’s groups and events at FCC Chico. All women who attend and/or support First Christian Church are included in DWM, and include the:

Other small groups which may be formed such as book groups and Bible Study groups

Women’s Work Day Women’s Work Days are on the second Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Women do various cleaning/organizing projects.
Bunco (DWM) A fun gathering of women that meets at 7:00 p.m. on the 4th Friday of the month, with the location announced each month in the Sunday Bulletin and via email lists. No experience necessary and no cost to players. Snacks and dessert are served. WICS (DWM) WICS, Women In Christian Service, is a group of women who meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. in the Fireside Room. Refreshments are served. This group does not meet in June, July or August. The purpose of this group is service. They take cookies to the homebound at Christmas and do other service projects. Baby Hat Ministry (DWM) Members and friends of the church knit and crochet baby hats for newborns at Enloe Hospital. If they are have more hats than babies, Enloe sends our hats overseas to gift newborns in other parts of the world. Knit or crochet a hat (or more), put your project in a plastic bag (with your name—we like to know who is participating) and put your contribution in the “Baby hat” basket on the table in the back of the sanctuary. Healing Circle (DWM) This is a group of women who either have a chronic illness or is a caregiver for a loved one. This group meets to share and support one another. Contact Judy Brillhart for information on meeting times and place as it varies, 530-345-4663 or cell 530-521-3262.
If you have an interest in something that isn’t listed and you would like to help start an interest group or book or Bible study, please fill out an index card at the back of the church with your name, contact, information and your idea for an interest group and put it in the box labeled New Opportunities.
