Journeys of the Heart

Journeys of the Heart Bereavement Group is starting up! 
This is a ‘normal’ bereavement group, not a Camp Fire grief group. Cost is $100 and includes books (sliding scale available). Facilitator is our own wonderful Chaplain Mary Kearns. It is a 10 week course, on Mondays, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Spiritual Care Center, starting February 17th, 2020. Finding Hope After The Camp Fire
A support group for people who need to process their losses...


Sponsored by: Resilience Resources: an non-profit group working together offering emotional care for Butte County residents.

Hosted by: Chaplain Mary A. Kearns, M. Div., BCC. Chaplain Mary serves as a Hospice Chaplain for Bristol Hospice. She is a board certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains; a Death and Grief Specialist, educated through The Center for Loss and Life Transition in Ft. Collins, CO. Mary has hosted support groups focused on specific bereavement losses since 2014. She works closely with Shalom Free Clinic, Enloe Hospice, and Feather River Adventist Health.
  • Where: 295 E. Washington Ave, Chico CA, in the Spiritual Care Center
  • When: Sundays, starting February 16th, 2020, for ten weeks. Mandatory Requirement: Attendance at the first meeting.
  • Cost: 10 sessions for up to 12 individuals has been paid for by Resilience Resources through national and local faith communities, and The Butte Strong Fund of the North Valley Community Foundation

Church Office Hours:
Monday-Thursday (Fridays Administrative Assistant works from home)
​8am-12noon; 1pm-2:30pm
Worship Services are on Sunday mornings in the Sanctuary at 10:00 am. Masks are not required but are recommended. We are continuing services online via Zoom and Facebook live, with YouTube videos going up the next business day.
